We hope you enjoy seeing our baby Silky girls for the 1st time!!! They are now 2 wks. old, and are like little "Angels"!! These 2 little sweetie's and our 4 Silky fella's below were born June 1st.

Momma' Enchanted Lil Lulu and Dad, Sonny Boy Prince really out did theirselves with this beautiful litter. We are very proud of each and every one of our Silky babies!!!

To help keep up with which pup is which in the coming weeks, we'll use a color code to track the growth and change in our Silky pups. The code for the little males is in the entry below...scroll down to see their 2 wk. old pics.

A Kissing-cousin to the Yorkshire Terrier, the Silky Terrier has a coat that is extremely similar, although not quite so long. The Silky's have a very lustrous haircoat that is NON-SHEDDING.Unlike other terriers, this cheerful little dog was not bred to do any particular hunting job, but purely, and most agreeably, to be a companion animal. Nevertheless, its terrier blood shows through in its active, assertive nature, and in the skill it displays killing vermin in its nature country.Sydney was the birth place of the breed, which was known at one time simply as the "Sydney Silky". Australian and Yorkshire Terriers were used as a part of an intricate cross-breeding program to produce a dog that combined the best features of both types. The carefully determined result must be counted as a modern success story. The Silky Terrier was first shown in Australia in 1907, Britain in 1930, and was recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1933. The Silky is a pretty, lively and intelligent animal that is quick to warn of the presence of strangers. It makes an ideal watchdog and pet for town dwellers with small apartments, but also enjoys country strolls. Terrier in spirit, if not in practice, the Silky is an ideal pet for those who want a small companion with a big heart.
