~Southern Silky Terriers Is Happy To Announce The Birth of Our New Silky Terrier Litter Today!!! ~ ALL SILKY PUPS NOW RESERVED!!! ~

Our beautiful Enchanted Lil' Lulu gave birth today to 6 precious Silky Terrier babies!!! They are so adorable and tiny!!!! We got a delivery from Mr. Stork of 2 little girls and 4 cute little boys. I am pleased to let you know that ALL SILKY PUPS from Lulu & Sonny Boys' litter have now been RESERVED!!!! If you are interested in a Silky pup, please contact me as I have a good friend w/ a few Silkys still available in Cullman, Al. I'll be happy to give you her contact info.
* 6-4-08 The newborn pups and I headed to see Dr. Eric at the Vet. The pups had their dewclaws removed/ tails docked/ and each pup had a complete checkup. Dr. Eric gave all 6 pups a 100% Healthy...Thumbs Up sign.....Thank you momma' Lulu!!!!

BREED INFORMATION

A Kissing-cousin to the Yorkshire Terrier, the Silky Terrier has a coat that is extremely similar, although not quite so long. The Silky's have a very lustrous haircoat that is NON-SHEDDING.Unlike other terriers, this cheerful little dog was not bred to do any particular hunting job, but purely, and most agreeably, to be a companion animal. Nevertheless, its terrier blood shows through in its active, assertive nature, and in the skill it displays killing vermin in its nature country.Sydney was the birth place of the breed, which was known at one time simply as the "Sydney Silky". Australian and Yorkshire Terriers were used as a part of an intricate cross-breeding program to produce a dog that combined the best features of both types. The carefully determined result must be counted as a modern success story. The Silky Terrier was first shown in Australia in 1907, Britain in 1930, and was recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1933. The Silky is a pretty, lively and intelligent animal that is quick to warn of the presence of strangers. It makes an ideal watchdog and pet for town dwellers with small apartments, but also enjoys country strolls. Terrier in spirit, if not in practice, the Silky is an ideal pet for those who want a small companion with a big heart.
