Southern Silky Terriers & Havanese- Wish You "A Happy Spring"- Please Meet My Stunning Silkys, Sonny Boy and Chrisi Bear!! Spring Litter Coming!!

We hope you are looking forward to a beautiful Spring Season this year!!! We are very excited here at Southern Silkys because my beautiful female, Chrisi Bear and my handsome Sire, Sonny Boy Prince ,"honeymooned" a few weeks ago!!!! We are expecting a precious Silky litter from these two around mid- April!! The pups should be ready for their new homes/ owners @ the 2nd wk. in June, depending on their exact B'day. This Silky litter will be Triple-Registered -CKC-APRI-ACA, and they will come with an Outstanding Champion Pedigree from APRI. I have already had inquiries about this upcoming litter; if you are interested, please contact me! The price of the pups will be : Males- $550 Females- $600 A deposit of $100 will be required to reserve your pup AFTER PUPS ARE BORN....first come, first choice and down the line. These Silkys will all be absolutely adorable, so it really won't matter if your first, or 5th on the list!!!

These Silky Girls, Lulu and Dori, Are Looking For 4-Leaf Clovers To Bring Us "Good Luck"!!!

These two Silky girls, Adorable Isabella (Dori) and Enchanted Lil' Lulu (Lulu) are my prissy little "Divas'"!!!!! They are full of personality, and will steal your heart in a minute!!!! They are so playful, and full of mischief...you never know what they'll be up to next....never a dull moment with these two sweeties!!! Dori was my first Silky girl, and now I have three more in the bunch!!

They are all different in their own way....I Love them all so much!!!

My "Lucky Charms" This Spring Are My Two New Additions To Southern Silky Terriers!!!!

We are so excited about our two new Silky babies that we have added to the "Silky Gang"!! They are littermates from the San Francisco Bay Area. I chose them especially for my breeding program because both their parents, Lady Mimi and Sir Blackie, are that gorgeous creamy-silver

coloration on their body coat. My little female is called Cali (Bonnie's California Dream Girl) and my little male is named Rascal (Bonnie's Tiny Little Rascal). These precious Silkys will be on the smaller size when grown....probably @ 5-6 1/2 lbs. They are both wonderful puppies, and all the older Silkys want to "mother" them!! They are simply adorable, and we are blessed to have found them when we did!!!!

My Havanese, Lola and JJ, are looking forward to Spring and the warmer weather here, too. They love swimming when I take them over to the pond or just get the kiddie pool out for them to play in! They are such happy, good-natured dogs, and they're always doing something comical!!! They keep us laughing constantly!!! We are hoping that this "couple" will honeymoon late summer, and that we'll have our 1st litter of Havanese pups by early Fall. I'm so excited about having my first precious, fluffy Havanese pups....they should be an awesome golden sable

coloration...I can't wait!!!!!

Chico, My Senior Chihuahua, Is Trying To Find The Wee' Little Leprachaun Man!!!!!

My Senior Chihuahua, Chico, has a very special place here at Southern Silkys'!!! He does his best to keep all the "Youngsters" in line!!!! The Silkys and my Havanese worship the ground Chico walks on. He is my special, unique little boy!!!! Chico is looking forward to warm weather this Spring.....he loves "basking" in the sun!!!!

BREED INFORMATION

A Kissing-cousin to the Yorkshire Terrier, the Silky Terrier has a coat that is extremely similar, although not quite so long. The Silky's have a very lustrous haircoat that is NON-SHEDDING.Unlike other terriers, this cheerful little dog was not bred to do any particular hunting job, but purely, and most agreeably, to be a companion animal. Nevertheless, its terrier blood shows through in its active, assertive nature, and in the skill it displays killing vermin in its nature country.Sydney was the birth place of the breed, which was known at one time simply as the "Sydney Silky". Australian and Yorkshire Terriers were used as a part of an intricate cross-breeding program to produce a dog that combined the best features of both types. The carefully determined result must be counted as a modern success story. The Silky Terrier was first shown in Australia in 1907, Britain in 1930, and was recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1933. The Silky is a pretty, lively and intelligent animal that is quick to warn of the presence of strangers. It makes an ideal watchdog and pet for town dwellers with small apartments, but also enjoys country strolls. Terrier in spirit, if not in practice, the Silky is an ideal pet for those who want a small companion with a big heart.
