We are expecting 2 litters of "HavanaSilky Pups" in January!!! Our first Designer litter of the cross between our Havanese and our Silky Terriers produced absolutely gorgeous pups. The litter of pups were Registered CKC & ACHC, and the pups were non-shedding and hypo-allergenic. The precious litter of "HavanaSilkys" went very fast, and they have turned out to be absolutely stunning dogs with personality plus!!! Southern Silky Terriers & Havanese has saved the "Best" for last!!! We have the cutest little 5 week old male Silky pup, "Kobe", that is

going to make a Hoover, Al. family very happy this Christmas! He will be a very special "Christmas Surprise" for a wonderful wife and 2 nine-year old twin boys from their father and husband. He wanted to give little Kobe to them a little early because he is leaving on Saturday for military duty in Afganistan. I know they will love him to death, and cute little Kobe will keep a smile on their face each and every day. It won't take them long to find out that Kobe gives you the "Best" puppy kisses ever! He will be a new "Best Friend" and playmate for the boys, and a comfort, companion, and good "snuggler" for mom during her husbands' military duty overseas. We wish our new friend that is helping to keep us safe all the Good Luck in the world, and we will keep him in our thoughts while he is away!!!!

Nikki will be going to live with Lorie and Will, and her new family in Prattville, Al. after Christmas!

BREED INFORMATION

A Kissing-cousin to the Yorkshire Terrier, the Silky Terrier has a coat that is extremely similar, although not quite so long. The Silky's have a very lustrous haircoat that is NON-SHEDDING.Unlike other terriers, this cheerful little dog was not bred to do any particular hunting job, but purely, and most agreeably, to be a companion animal. Nevertheless, its terrier blood shows through in its active, assertive nature, and in the skill it displays killing vermin in its nature country.Sydney was the birth place of the breed, which was known at one time simply as the "Sydney Silky". Australian and Yorkshire Terriers were used as a part of an intricate cross-breeding program to produce a dog that combined the best features of both types. The carefully determined result must be counted as a modern success story. The Silky Terrier was first shown in Australia in 1907, Britain in 1930, and was recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1933. The Silky is a pretty, lively and intelligent animal that is quick to warn of the presence of strangers. It makes an ideal watchdog and pet for town dwellers with small apartments, but also enjoys country strolls. Terrier in spirit, if not in practice, the Silky is an ideal pet for those who want a small companion with a big heart.
