Southern Silky Terriers Is Proud To Present Our First Litter!!!

We are so excited about our 2 precious male pups that were born in the wee' hours of the morning on Saturday, March 24th. They are so tiny and sweet...and LuLu is being such a great mom. The pups are just 6 days old in these pictures! We'll keep you up-dated as they get a little older. Remember, they will be double-registered-CKC and APRI. They will be absolutely beautiful when grown!

This is my little Princess....Dori (Bonnie's Adorable Isabella). She is my first Silky , and is now 3 years old. She is a very, very special little dog, and we just" love her to pieces"!!

This "peppy" little girl is Chrisi (Bonnie's Christmas Bear). She is very intelligent, inquisitive, and so quick to learn new things. If anything's going on.... she's sure to be right in the middle of things. I think she is so beautiful and a WONDERFUL example of the Silky Breed.

This is my precious little girl LuLu......(Bonnie's Enchanted Little LuLu). She is so very feminine and quite "the looker". She has the sweetest little personality, but don't let her cute look fool you - she can be a "spunky little thing", too!

Meet my charming little Sire....Sonny Boy (Bonnie's Lil Sonny Boy Prince). He is Mr. Personality Plus and just as sweet and loving as can be. He has a wonderful conformation and his coat is a beautiful silver blue coloration.

My Silkies are house dogs and are crate trained but I have a large fenced in yard with several puppy play areas so they can get plenty of exercise, socialize with the other dogs and people, and enjoy our Southern climate. They are very much loved, and a WEE-BIT SPOILED, I'm afraid!

I raise only quality, true purebred Silkies. My Silkies are double-registered CKC (Continental Kennel Club) and APRI (American Pet Registry, Inc.). I took great care in selecting my Sire and Dams ..... they were imported from the Mid-West. They come from excellent lineage with many Champions in their background. Their pedigrees are outstanding! You are welcome to see them!

Silky Terriers make WONDERFUL, FRIENDLY companions. They are non-shedding puppies, with a lustrous hair coat that grows to their ankles in length. They are a very playful breed that adore children and get along very well with other dogs and cats. They are very "people oriented." They make excellent family dogs or just a great little pup to snuggle with and be a "lap dog" to a couple or a single person looking for a four-legged friend to love!

BREED INFORMATION

A Kissing-cousin to the Yorkshire Terrier, the Silky Terrier has a coat that is extremely similar, although not quite so long. The Silky's have a very lustrous haircoat that is NON-SHEDDING.Unlike other terriers, this cheerful little dog was not bred to do any particular hunting job, but purely, and most agreeably, to be a companion animal. Nevertheless, its terrier blood shows through in its active, assertive nature, and in the skill it displays killing vermin in its nature country.Sydney was the birth place of the breed, which was known at one time simply as the "Sydney Silky". Australian and Yorkshire Terriers were used as a part of an intricate cross-breeding program to produce a dog that combined the best features of both types. The carefully determined result must be counted as a modern success story. The Silky Terrier was first shown in Australia in 1907, Britain in 1930, and was recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1933. The Silky is a pretty, lively and intelligent animal that is quick to warn of the presence of strangers. It makes an ideal watchdog and pet for town dwellers with small apartments, but also enjoys country strolls. Terrier in spirit, if not in practice, the Silky is an ideal pet for those who want a small companion with a big heart.
