Southern Silky Terriers Is Proud To Present The 1st Pictures of Our New Silky Litter of 5 Precious Babies!!! All Pups Are RESERVED!!

Our 5 darling Silky Terriers are doing GREAT!!! They are already showing such personality and "Spunk" even at only 6 days old!!! They were little wiggle-worms when I was trying to get them to "pose" for me this morning!!!! I will take pics every weekend of the individual baby Silkys from this week on, until they are ready to leave us for their new homes at 8 wks. old. The following color code will help you keep track of the different pups as they grow and change.

Female - "Dixie"- Reddish-Pink
Male # 1- Blue
Male # 2- Green
Male # 3- Orange
Male # 4- Yellow - ( "Lobo"- the pup we are keeping)

Southern Silky Terriers Is Proud To Announce The Birth of Our 5th Silky Terrier Litter On Sunday, April 20th, 2008.

*We Had 1 Precious Little Silky Girl/ and 4 Adorable Males All 5 Silky Pups Are Now Spoken For and Are RESERVED !!!!! **

We are so "Proud and Happy" with our new Silky Terrier litter that Chrisi gave us early Sunday morning, April 20th. We have 5 absolutely precious Silky babies!!! We had 1 petite little girl that is already named "Dixie", and she will be going to live in Steamboat Springs, Colorado when she is old enough. The proud owners will be Sydney, and the O'Hare Family. A bouncing baby boy will be going to live with Abby in West Point, Georgia. Abby has decided to name her little fella' "Charlie". We have another male cutie pie already named "Novac" that will be going to his new home in Carrollton, Georgia to live with Courtney, and the Spratlin Family. My David has decided to keep one of the little male pups "in the family" for us as a "Surprise"!! Our last little male pup will be going to live in Springville, Al. with Susan and Don McLaughlin. They are thinking of a cute name for him right now!!! We are so happy that we have already found loving homes for all 5 of our "Special" Silky babies, and they are less than a week old still!!! These people, and families have been waiting quite some time for this much anticipated delivery from Mr. Stork!!! They are going to enjoy and love them for many, many years to come. Silkys love and adore their families and will be the source of much merriment, joy, and companionship in the future for these people and families! I am very happy and thrilled that you found Southern Silky Terriers where we like to make people happy with our wonderful Silky babies!!! They are NOT just another dog, they are the "Perfect" dog!!!!!

BREED INFORMATION

A Kissing-cousin to the Yorkshire Terrier, the Silky Terrier has a coat that is extremely similar, although not quite so long. The Silky's have a very lustrous haircoat that is NON-SHEDDING.Unlike other terriers, this cheerful little dog was not bred to do any particular hunting job, but purely, and most agreeably, to be a companion animal. Nevertheless, its terrier blood shows through in its active, assertive nature, and in the skill it displays killing vermin in its nature country.Sydney was the birth place of the breed, which was known at one time simply as the "Sydney Silky". Australian and Yorkshire Terriers were used as a part of an intricate cross-breeding program to produce a dog that combined the best features of both types. The carefully determined result must be counted as a modern success story. The Silky Terrier was first shown in Australia in 1907, Britain in 1930, and was recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1933. The Silky is a pretty, lively and intelligent animal that is quick to warn of the presence of strangers. It makes an ideal watchdog and pet for town dwellers with small apartments, but also enjoys country strolls. Terrier in spirit, if not in practice, the Silky is an ideal pet for those who want a small companion with a big heart. WEIGHT AVG. 7-11 lbs HEIGHT AVG. 9-10" Silky's make an all around well balanced"FAMILY DOG"As a puppy, they adapt very well to their "new family", including most of the other pets that may already reside there. They are very playful and thriveon the attention that a child may offer. They are very intelligentand eager to please, which helpsout tremendously in the "house-breaking"process.
