~ Our 4 Wk. Old Chocolate-Sable Female HavanaSilky Is A Real Beauty Queen!!! She Is Now RESERVED For A Very "Special" Person!!! ~

Our precious 4 wk. old female chocolate-sable HavanaSilky is a living doll!!! She has on the Purple decoration on her collar. This baby girl is a real beauty w/ the most wonderful disposition, and sweet as "honey"!!! She is now ON HOLD for her special girl, Leigh!!!!! Leigh lives in Vestavia Hills, Al. and is a nurse at Brookwood Hospital here in B'ham. We are so Happy for you......I think you were meant for each other!!! When Leigh saw this precious baby girl, it was "Puppy Love" at first sight!!!!!! Congrats!!!!! :)

Leigh is thinking of a very special name for her new baby girl, and we'll post that ASAP!!!!

A Kissing-cousin to the Yorkshire Terrier, the Silky Terrier has a coat that is extremely similar, although not quite so long. The Silky's have a very lustrous haircoat that is NON-SHEDDING.Unlike other terriers, this cheerful little dog was not bred to do any particular hunting job, but purely, and most agreeably, to be a companion animal. Nevertheless, its terrier blood shows through in its active, assertive nature, and in the skill it displays killing vermin in its nature country.Sydney was the birth place of the breed, which was known at one time simply as the "Sydney Silky". Australian and Yorkshire Terriers were used as a part of an intricate cross-breeding program to produce a dog that combined the best features of both types. The carefully determined result must be counted as a modern success story. The Silky Terrier was first shown in Australia in 1907, Britain in 1930, and was recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1933. The Silky is a pretty, lively and intelligent animal that is quick to warn of the presence of strangers. It makes an ideal watchdog and pet for town dwellers with small apartments, but also enjoys country strolls. Terrier in spirit, if not in practice, the Silky is an ideal pet for those who want a small companion with a big heart.
