~ Southern Silkys & Havanese Had Our 2nd Visit From Mr. Stork With Another Rare & Precious Litter Of "HavanaSilky" Pups!! ~

We are so thrilled that our 2nd litter of HavanaSilkys has arrived (B'day 1/9/09)....they are 6 days younger than our 1st litter. (see entry below) The Dam to this gorgeous litter is my spunky and special Silky Terrier, Adorable Isabella (Dori)-CKC & ACA Registered, and the Sire is my loveable and gorgeous creamy-sable Havanese, JJ,
(Sir Jumpin' Jack Flash)-CKC/APRI/& ACA Reg. We had 3 adorable pups in this litter....all golden-sable brown....so pretty!!!! The Sire, JJ, has strong tendencies to have chocolate pups, as did his Sire. This is a very desireable color in the Havanese breed. We were blessed with 1 adorable female HavanaSilky pup, and 2 really precious male pups. This litter will have stronger traits of the Havanese Breed due to their Havanese Sire who is gene dominant over the female. Whereas our 1st litter of HavanaSilkys will be the opposite due to the Havanese Dam and the Silky Terrier Sire. Both litters will be rare & "Awesome" looking dogs!!! The price for pups from both litters will be $500.00 w/ a $200.00 non-refundable deposit due when you Reserve your pup. Our 2nd litter of HavanaSilky pups will be able to be Registered thru CKC Kennel Club. This litter will be available to go to their new owners at 8 wks. old which will be @ March 6th/ 7th. BREED INFORMATION

A Kissing-cousin to the Yorkshire Terrier, the Silky Terrier has a coat that is extremely similar, although not quite so long. The Silky's have a very lustrous haircoat that is NON-SHEDDING.Unlike other terriers, this cheerful little dog was not bred to do any particular hunting job, but purely, and most agreeably, to be a companion animal. Nevertheless, its terrier blood shows through in its active, assertive nature, and in the skill it displays killing vermin in its nature country.Sydney was the birth place of the breed, which was known at one time simply as the "Sydney Silky". Australian and Yorkshire Terriers were used as a part of an intricate cross-breeding program to produce a dog that combined the best features of both types. The carefully determined result must be counted as a modern success story. The Silky Terrier was first shown in Australia in 1907, Britain in 1930, and was recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1933. The Silky is a pretty, lively and intelligent animal that is quick to warn of the presence of strangers. It makes an ideal watchdog and pet for town dwellers with small apartments, but also enjoys country strolls. Terrier in spirit, if not in practice, the Silky is an ideal pet for those who want a small companion with a big heart.
