Our New Little Havanese Female Pup, Tessi', Is A Very Beautiful and Sweet Girl!!!!!

Angel's Beautiful Contessa (Tessi') is our newest addition to our puppy gang here at Southern Silky Terriers & Havanese. Tessi' is 4 1/2 months old and is a gorgeous creamy-sable color. Tessi' came from Mo., and I was so lucky to find her....she was absolutely exactly the type of pup I was looking for!!! I am very excited about her future here with us!!! She has the sweetest temperment, and all the other dogs just love her to death. She and Little Missy are best friends, and, of course, boy friend Cooter always is close-by hoping that she'll choose to play with him!!!!

I hope you enjoy seeing our Tessi' for the first time, we think she's a very special little girl!!!!

BREED INFORMATION

A Kissing-cousin to the Yorkshire Terrier, the Silky Terrier has a coat that is extremely similar, although not quite so long. The Silky's have a very lustrous haircoat that is NON-SHEDDING.Unlike other terriers, this cheerful little dog was not bred to do any particular hunting job, but purely, and most agreeably, to be a companion animal. Nevertheless, its terrier blood shows through in its active, assertive nature, and in the skill it displays killing vermin in its nature country.Sydney was the birth place of the breed, which was known at one time simply as the "Sydney Silky". Australian and Yorkshire Terriers were used as a part of an intricate cross-breeding program to produce a dog that combined the best features of both types. The carefully determined result must be counted as a modern success story. The Silky Terrier was first shown in Australia in 1907, Britain in 1930, and was recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1933. The Silky is a pretty, lively and intelligent animal that is quick to warn of the presence of strangers. It makes an ideal watchdog and pet for town dwellers with small apartments, but also enjoys country strolls. Terrier in spirit, if not in practice, the Silky is an ideal pet for those who want a small companion with a big heart.
