~ Southern Silky Terriers Is So Proud of Lulu's Beautiful 7 wk. Old Silky Pups!!! See "Sammy" (Green) & Cute "Rico" (Blue) !!

It's hard to believe that my sweet Silky terrier pups are 7 wks. old today!!!! They are such a smart, and eager to please group of pups! They are all so ready to go to their new owners & homes!!! They are very ready for more one-on-one attention, love, play, and their very own human that will make them feel like the most "special" puppy in the world. They don't have too much longer to wait until they go to their new forever, loving owners!!!! You can scroll down to see our "HavanaSilky" pups...I'll update their pics Tues. when they are 6 wks. old.

BREED INFORMATION

A Kissing-cousin to the Yorkshire Terrier, the Silky Terrier has a coat that is extremely similar, although not quite so long. The Silky's have a very lustrous haircoat that is NON-SHEDDING.Unlike other terriers, this cheerful little dog was not bred to do any particular hunting job, but purely, and most agreeably, to be a companion animal. Nevertheless, its terrier blood shows through in its active, assertive nature, and in the skill it displays killing vermin in its nature country.Sydney was the birth place of the breed, which was known at one time simply as the "Sydney Silky". Australian and Yorkshire Terriers were used as a part of an intricate cross-breeding program to produce a dog that combined the best features of both types. The carefully determined result must be counted as a modern success story. The Silky Terrier was first shown in Australia in 1907, Britain in 1930, and was recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1933. The Silky is a pretty, lively and intelligent animal that is quick to warn of the presence of strangers. It makes an ideal watchdog and pet for town dwellers with small apartments, but also enjoys country strolls. Terrier in spirit, if not in practice, the Silky is an ideal pet for those who want a small companion with a big heart.
